Mission
The diversity of the flora of Cameroon and the close cultural association of the peoples with them call for a profound understanding of their biology if we must optimise and sustain the interaction. The Department of Botany and Plant Physiology therefore seeks to train theoretically sound and practice-oriented Plant Scientists with a modern vision of the living world, who are appropriately empowered with analytical skills of solving problems of immediate concern to the community using sustainable approaches, and who are capable of applying their skills to agriculture, human and veterinary phytomedicine, service industries, biotechnology and environmental conservation.
