Objectives

To give an overview of phylogenetic relationships and a knowledge of the biology of fungi, algae, bryophytes and pteridophytes.

Contents

The course covers classification, morphological diversity, nutrition and life histories to illustrate evolutionary trends and features of interest in Algae, Fungi, Bryophytes and Pteridophytes; fossil forms, collection and preparation of herbarium specimens; highlights of the economic importance of the above-named groups.
