Objectives
To understand the aetiology of virus diseases in plants with a view to managing such diseases. It deals with basic knowledge of virus structure, nomenclature and ecology, as well as reviewing major virus diseases of economic importance in Cameroon and the tropics.

Virus structure, composition and replication; plant virus taxonomy and nomenclature; host range and Symptomatology; instrumentation, quantification and techniques in plant virology; classical and modern practice of plant virus diagnosis including serology and nucleic acid probes; plant virus ecology and molecular epidemiology; transgenic plants and host resistance in plant viruses; advances in genetic engineering involving plant viruses; review of virus diseases of major agricultural crops in Cameroon.
