Objectives

To give general basic knowledge on the history of Horticulture and its practice in Cameroon and an overview of principles and infrastructural needs of horticultural production.

Contents

History and development of horticulture; practice of horticulture in Cameroon and the tropics; Ecological distribution of horticultural crops in Cameroon; Principles underlying horticultural practices; Survey of plant propagation methods; infrastructural needs of horticulture; basic machinery and equipment; an overview of areas of specialisation in horticulture: vegetable production, floriculture, ornamental trees and landscaping, and pomology; Organisation and management of commercial production.
