Objectives

To students a framework for research for development of vaccines against parasitic infection through the understanding of immune responses. The course shall focus on the vaccine for parasitic diseases that are in the most advanced stages of development (Malaria-Leishmaniasis-Toxoplasmosis, cryptosporidiosis, Schistosomiasis-Hook Worms)

Immunobiology; Innate immunity; adaptive immune responses; Antigen that elicit immune responses; separation techniques, Monoclonal antibodies, labelling techniques, T-Cell proliferation assays; immune-epidemiological techniques; production of antigen material in quantity, stimulation of immunity under field conditions, DNA vaccines: designing strategies against parasitic infections, Progress in development of vaccines against specific infections.
