To introduce students to the theory and analysis of linear partial differential equations.

Contents

First order partial differential equations and systems; canonical second order linear equations; Green's function; method of characteristics; properties of solutions; orthogonal sets of functions; Fourier series; solution of potential equation; heat equation and wave equation.
