Objectives
The aim of the course is to train students in advanced skills of report writing, and the critical examination of scientific literature. It also aims at providing training in research proposal writing, ethics, and the quantification of resource favourability in geology.
Contents
The style and language of geological reports based on the end – user: government, organisation, research institutes, Universities. Proposal writing and legal knowledge in developing a project proposal. Weighting and multivariate techniques in quantifying favourability in exploration geology, geophysical surveys and geochemistry. Evidential belief function and development of mineral deposit, oil and groundwater reservoir models. Innovative computing and applications in Geosciences. Interactive 2-D and 3-D modelling and interpretations.
