Objectives
To gain a basic understanding of microbial biochemistry and physiology.
Contents
The nutrition and metabolism of bacteria, yeasts and moulds in relation to minerals and vitamin requirements; oxygen relations (aerobic and anaerobic dissimilation); general aspect of energy yielding processes and biological oxidation and the electron transfer systems; enzyme mechanisms and enzyme actions as well as their role in the physiology of microorganisms.
