Objectives

To give a thorough knowledge of the physiological processes in harvested produce.

Contents

Aspects of storage and storage life of harvested produce; the tropical environment in relation to maturation/maturity, ripeness and senescence including climacteric, physical and chemical indices and quality in fruits and vegetable crops; designing appropriate techniques and machinery; and facilities for post-harvest handling, transport and storage; A review of marketing and marketing problems in relation to quality of produce.
