Admission Requirements

A minimum Second class (Lower Division) B.Sc. degree in Botany, Biology or any other relevant Biological discipline, Environmental Science, Geography.

Objectives

The M.Sc. programme in Wetlands Ecology and Management is intended to give professional training to current and potential workers in the conservation, water and catchment management sectors. The training combines ecological knowledge of wetlands and catchments with professional knowledge in other related fields.

Graduation Requirements

To qualify for graduation, a student must satisfy all of the following conditions:

  • Earn at least 120 GPA credits
  • Pass in all prescribed courses including a successful project report defense.
  • Score a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 on a scale of 4.0.

Employment Opportunities

Graduates with a M.Sc. degree in Wetlands Ecology and Management can be self-employed or find high-level employment in the public/private sectors in such areas as teaching and research, agriculture, industries, forestry and biodiversity and conservation, fisheries, water supply and management services among many others. Many of them may hold managerial and/or decision-making positions in these areas.
