Objectives

To study parasite epidemiology and determine the strategies for controlling protozoan and helminthic diseases of veterinary and medical importance.

Contents

Parasites and concept of epidemiology; the epidemiology and control of helminth infections of grazing animals; schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminth infections; helminth control in school age children; chemotherapy in the control of helminth infections; the malaria parasite Plasmodium and the epidemiology of the disease and epidemiology of drug resistant malaria; control of other protozoan and helminthic diseases of veterinary and medical importance; vector competence-behaviour; biological basis of vector control; chemical and sterile insect techniques for vector control; malaria vector control strategies and challenges.
