Objectives

To understand the physiology associated with circulatory system and respiratory system of mammals and the control strategy.

Contents

Cardiovascualar system: Heart structure; Hemodynamic principles of the cardiovascular system; the nodes and specialised tissue of the heart, cardiac mechanics; cardiac cycle; arterial blood pressure; venous return; microvasucular regulation; Special circulations; Formation of lymphs; functions of the Lymphatic System; Neural regulation of the cardiovascular system;

Respiratory system: Respiratory structure; ventilation, mechanism of gaseous exchange; transport of respiratory gases; cell respiration; respiratory muscles; neural regulation of the respiratory system.

Prerequisite:

Knowledge on physiological processes of the systems studied and their control.
