PAR601: Parasitic Diseases and Public Health 6 credits (40-10-10)

Objectives

To provide a comprehensive review of the major parasitic diseases of tropical and developing countries, and their implications in Public health.

Contents

The course shall discuss causation, pathogenesis, clinical features, diagnosis and management of the major parasitic diseases of tropical and developing countries. The principle of control of those diseases shall also be discussed. Basic epidemiology principles to the study of parasitic diseases will be introduced.
