Objectives

To introduce students to the general principles of evolutionary theory and the reasons why biologists adopt a Darwinian stance, as well as to some of the key mechanisms and processes that underpin the evolution of both organisms and major genetic structures.

Contents

Principle of Evolution, theory of Evolution at the level of the gene, the chromosome and the genome; theory of evolution by natural selection and the evidence on which it is based.
