Objectives

To study the origin, types and action of drugs; their effects on human health and legislations on them.

Contents

The scope of pharmacology; drugs – their sources, nature, methods of administration, absorption and excretion; Metabolic approaches to chemotherapy, the metabolic factors affecting chemotherapeutic response, physiological, biochemical and pharmacological basis of drug action in man; The pharmacology of the autonomic nervous system, neuromuscular blocking drugs, local anaesthetics, histamine and antihistaminics as well as oxytocic drugs and the legislations of drugs.
