The immune system and its organs; Immune responses; Types of immune responses; Immunoglobins, antigen-antibody interactions; organization and expressions of Ig genes; B cell maturation, activation and differentiation; Uses of immunoglobulins; Details on methods of production, purification and characterisation of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies; Hybridoma technology; Labeling of antibodies; Immunotechnologies: ELISA, Western blotting, Immunochromatography, Immunohistochemistry techniques. Antibody engineering: Antibody gene cloning, Recombinant antibody gene expression, Production of antibodies in E. coli, Phage display and biopanning technologies; Monoclonal antibody as therapeutic agents. T-cell responses and T-cell based diagnostics. Immunologic tolerance; immunosuppression; autoimmunity and transplantation immunology.
