Origin and nature of viruses; structure, classification and characterization of viruses; chemical and physical properties of bacterial, animal and plant viruses; pathogenesis, diagnosis, immune responses to viral diseases; epidemiology and control of selected viral diseases of man and animals; viral genetics and interactions; interferon and the interference phenomenon.
