Objectives

The course aims at providing theoretical and practical knowledge on basic microscopic techniques used in the diagnosis of infectious diseases.

Contents

The course will deal with theoretical and practical knowledge on basic microscopic techniques (wet mount and staining techniques) used in the diagnosis of infectious diseases, sample collection and processing techniques, features used for the identification of medically important parasites/microorganisms and interpretation of results.
