Objectives

The course will provide a comprehensive review of the major Viral and Bacterial diseases of tropical and developing countries, and important related issues in public health.

Contents

Causation, pathogenesis, clinical features, diagnosis and management of the major viral and bacterial diseases of tropical and developing countries; principles of control of infection diseases; nutrition, reproductive health, maternal and child health, chronic disease and disability, water and sanitation; management infectious disease problems in low-income settings as well as in settings where more expensive investigations and drugs are available, communication of relevant knowledge to the health system
