Objectives

To treat algebraic structures which are fundamental in the study of most areas of Abstract algebra. This course is designed to provide the student with the knowledge of such algebraic structures.

Topics in Commutative Algebra such as: Galois Theory; Ideals and Modules; Noetherian Rings, Prime Ideals in Noetherian Rings; Principal Ideal Rings; Discrete valuation Rings and Dedekind Domains; Classical Ideal Theory; Topologies and completions, Graded Rings and Modules; Dimension Theory; The specialized topics treated will depend on the interest of students.
