To introduce the students to topology and topological notions.

Contents

Point set Topology: Separable, normal, compact, locally complete, locally compact and connected spaces; Heine-Borel theorem; Bolzano-Weiertrass theorem; Continuity and semi-continuity; Uniform continuity and semi-continuity; Uniform continuity and convergence of mappings on metric spaces; Fixed point theorem; Introduction to general topology: separable, normal, compact, locally compact spaces and compactification; Connected spaces; Product space, quotient spaces.
