Objectives

To acquaint candidates to the peculiarities of the Geology of Cameroon especially aspects in which advanced research is still very much in need. The course also aims at discussing geo-hazardous zones in Cameroon.

Sedimentary basins of Cameroon: origins, structures, economic potentials and recent advancements in the study of these basins. The cratonic and Panafrican belts of Cameroon – nature, origin, structures, economic potentials, geochronology and recent advancements in the study of these zones. The Cameroon Volcanic Province – origin, nature, structure, geophysical and geochemical characteristics. Hazard Management in Cameroon (with case studies): policy, and practice. Hazard mitigation in Cameroon: current and future trends.
