The course aims at the use of case studies to show how geophysical techniques are used in exploration and in assessing environmental pollution.

The theory, practice and use of seismic, gravity, magnetic and electrical methods in mineral and petroleum exploration. Geophysical investigation of domestic and industrial waste dump sites. Salinity evaluation and subsurface contaminant flow pattern. Case studies.
