Surface processes of the Earth. Weathering and erosion; transport and deposition of detritus by gravity, water, wind and ice. Soils, landforms in humid, subtropical and arid climates, karst topography. Earth movements, mountain building and magmatism. Earthquake zones and volcanic belts. Classification of rocks and minerals. Physico - chemical changes responsible for mineral and rock formation. Uses of rocks and minerals. Origin, association and properties of rocks and minerals. Identification of common rock forming minerals. Rocks and minerals of Cameroon.
