Objectives

To introduce the concept, conduct, good practices and the implementation of national and international EIA standards/strategies.

Contents

Topics covered will include: The Concept of EIA; EIA as a management tool; EIA best pactices;Steps in the carry out of EIA ; Preparation of terms of reference; Baseline studies; Prediction of Impacts; Mitigation measures; Comparison of alternatives; Public involvement, and the review process; Design and implementation of full Impact/ Auditing studies ;Practical field training of students on EIA processes and reporting.
