ELT303: Applied Electronics and Workshop Practice 6 credits (40-8-12)

Objectives

To familiarize with common laboratory instruments and techniques and conduct experiments in analogue circuits relating theoretical concepts with real and non-ideal components. Students are also expected to know basic workshop practices, like selecting and using various tools and equipment related to electronics.

Contents

Orientation: Safety, measurements, and PSPICE; Laboratory Equipment: Oscilloscope, ohmmeter, potentiometer, and ammeter; Resistor Measurements: Kirchhoff's laws, series/parallel resistive circuits; BJT and FET: characteristics and gain; Op-Amps: bandwidth and gain.
