Objectives

To introduce students to basic medical statistics, bioinformatics and the use of R statistical software in statistical analysis and bioinformatics.

Contents

Concepts and definitions in medical statistics, variance, distribution, confidence interval, significant testing, correlation analysis, bias, classification methods in bioinformatics, Markov models.

Downloading and installation of R, Using R in display data, estimation and inferences, linear models, micro array analysis, cluster analysis and trees, and sequence analysis
