To review tropical pathogens, vectors and parasitic diseases and their impact on health and the economy.

Tropical pathogens and parasitic diseases; arthropods as vectors and agents of disease; crop and animal pests; parasites of veterinary importance; beneficial animals in agriculture (role in dispersal, soil fertility, pollination and biological control of pests); domestic animals and their husbandry techniques; application in textile industry (e.g sericulture – raising and care of silkworms for production of raw silk; uses of wax); apiculture (raising and care of bees); jewellery production (using bones, horns, shells, elephant tusks) and production of buttons from bones and shells; food industry; animal feed production.
