Objectives

To study the nutrition, feeding behaviour and control strategies of insect pests and disease vectors.

Contents

Nutrition, food selection and feeding behaviour; digestion and metabolism; specific metabolic pathways of pests/disease vectors and drug design; biochemistry of predation; economic decision levels for regulating pest population; control strategies (biological, chemical, IPM); mechanism of pesticide action and resistance; breeding for crop and animal resistance; the treatment and control of arthropod ectoparasites.
