Objectives

To give a description of complex geophysical and atmospheric phenomena within theory of nonlinear dynamical systems.

Contents

Non-linear models and approaches of the earthquake: the sand pile model, self organized criticality, the stick-slip model: sismicity, criticality and the Gutenberg-Richter scaling law, Large and small scale events, non-linear fault patterns and solitons, Earthquake-induced Tsunami.

Hydrodynamic equations for atmospheric flows and cyclones, Hallow atmosphere waves and Korteweg-de-Vries equation, Rossby solitons, Euler equations for atmospheric perturbation induced Tsunami phenomena.
