Objectives
To focus on selected topics in nonlinear dynamics of homogenous and stochastic systems.

General inverse scattering theory(AKNS-ZS) for sine-Gordon, nonlinear Schrodinger and Korteweg-de Vries equations, soliton perturbation theory based on variational methods and collective coordinate methods, stochastic perturbation and nonlinear diffusion, quantization of discrete systems, nonlinear partial differential equations for optical fibres, long Josephson Junctions, passive nonlinear transmission ( i.e. Hirota) lines, long bimolecular systems such as DNA strands and electron-phonon as well as lattice spin chain models with large polaron excitations, inclusion of thermal noises, the classical discrete self-trapping equation and other anharmonic lattice equations, quantization methods.
