Objectives
To introduce the different techniques available in harnessing the solar energy for electricity generation.

Generation and recombination of electrons and holes; diffusion and drift of charge carriers in a nonequilibrium state; contact phenomena in semiconductors; surface phenomena in semiconductors; the direct conversion of light into electrical energy: study of the efficiency of energy conversion of the different types of solar cells, their manufacturing techniques and the cost efficiency; Concentration of Solar energy; Performance of collectors, fabrication.
