Objectives
To provide basic information on the recognition, biology, ecology and medical and veterinary importance of vectors that affect human and animal health.

Introduction to mosquitoes (Culicidae), Anopheline mosquitoes, Culicine mosquitoes, black-flies (Simuliidae), Phlebotomine sand flies (Phlebotomidae), Biting midges (Ceratopogonidae), Horse flies (Tabanidae), Tse-tse flies (Glossinidae), Fleas(Siphonaptera), sucking lice (Anoplura), Triatomine bugs (Triatomidae), Soft ticks (Argasidae), hard ticks (Ixodidae). For each group of vectors, the external morphology, the internal anatomy the life cycle, the Medical importance and the control will be examined. The intermediate hosts of trematodes will also be studies.
