Objectives

To provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge on histological techniques and their applications to the identification of infectious organisms.

Contents

Basic concepts of histology, histological equipment, materials for histology, sample collection and preservation, sample preparation, sectioning of tissues, staining techniques and identification features of parasites on stained tissues. Interpretation of histology results and applications of histological techniques in the diagnosis of infectious microorganisms.
