Objectives
The course is aimed at enabling candidates develop a holistic view of geology as an interdisciplinary Earth Science through interactive discussions and assigned readings of specific topics.

Variable topics such as Urban Geoscience, Geology and policy development/implementation, the nuclear industry and the use of geological information in the selection of dumps sites; geo-sites and the world heritage programme. Natural disasters and global policy on disaster reduction. Case studies.
