Objectives
To examine the primary metabolic pathways (anabolism and catabolism) of sugars and lipids.
AK18Metabolism of sugars: glycolysis, glycogenolysis, Pentose Monophosphate Shunt, Glyoxylate pathways; The Krebs Cycle; gluconeogenesis; Biosynthesis of polysaccharides; Metabolism of Lipids; Fatty acid oxidation; Metabolism of phospholipids, sphingolipids, steroids, isoprenoids and prostaglandins; Integration of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism; Photosynthesis: pathways and mechanisms in higher plants and bacteria.
