Objectives
To focus on the use of radiochemistry as an analytical tool in both organic and inorganic chemistry; and the role of radionuclides in the synthesis of radiolabeled compounds.

Heavy transition metals; current models of atomic structure, fundamental particles and nuclear structure, nuclear reactions: basic concepts of radioactive decay; instrumentation: the tracer principle; methods of radionuclide production and separation methods; methods of radio labeling; survey of important radionuclides used in biology and medicine; basic concepts in radiation safety; methods of radiosynthesis.
