Objectives
To attract the interests of both organic and inorganic chemistry students with a focus on new bonding theories and applications of new techniques in the synthesis of new compounds.
Contents
Organometallic compounds: Synthesis, structure and nomenclature; bonding in transition metal compounds; reactivity; metal carbonyls; arenes; aryls; characterization of organometallic compounds; use of organometallic compounds in organic synthesis; reaction mechanisms; metal clusters in catalysis; chemistry of electron deficient compounds.
